Meet Our Staff

Ned D. Ammons, CSW, LSW

Executive Director

Ned has been with Red Cedar Canyon as the Director since October 2014.  He has two daughters, Melanie who is a Sophomore at the University of Wisconsin – River Falls and majoring in elementary education and Miranda, who is a Junior at the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire pursuing her RN with the plan to go on to be a nurse practitioner one day.  Ned earned his bachelor’s degree in Social Work with a Minor in Gerontology and emphasis in Medical Terminology from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire.

He has experience in Long-term care, Transitional Care, Hospice, Pharmacy and Assisted Living / Memory Care management.  Additionally, Ned has dedicated his entire professional career to Geriatrics. His guiding principles are, “At the end of the day did I do the right thing” and, “Would I allow my parents to live here.” If Ned cannot answer yes to these questions and/or his team cannot answer yes to these questions for themselves, then he has no business asking another person to place their loved one in a senior property that he manages. Ned’s focus is to always exceed customers’ expectations!

Tracey Peloquin

Office Manager / Administrative Assistant

Tracey has worked at Red Cedar Canyon for 11 years and has “worn many hats” during this tenure. She began as a resident caregiver and eventually transitioned into supporting community programming/activities. After several years in that position, Tracey moved into a position where she could utilize many of her organizational and business skills to support the community. Currently, Tracey works as the administrative assistant and manages the front-desk, handles account payables & receivables, prepares and sends out monthly resident invoices, develops caregivers work schedules, provides new employee orientation and oversees any human resource items.

Outside of work, Tracey is a busy mother of 6 children ranging between 15 years and as young as a toddler. Tracey enjoys spending quality time with her family; and when provided a moment alone, Tracey likes going for walks, watching movies, and shopping.

Jackie Paulson, LPN

Cedar Cove / Memory Care Nurse Manager

Jackie works fulltime in our memory care unit (Cedar Cove) as the unit manager.  She has been a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for 35 years, specializing in geriatrics and specifically dementia.  Jackie became a certified dementia practitioner in 2013 with the Council of Certified Practitioners, and also obtained a certification in the Music and Memory Program in 2015.

Jackie’s love for working with this population only continues to grow.  Her days at Red Cedar Canyon are filled with laughter, exploration, companionship and food! Jackie is a mother and grandmother, garden enthusiast and a lover of dogs and yoga.

Berit Strom

Therapeutic Recreation Director

Berit is the Therapeutic Recreation Director at Red Cedar Canyon. She feels very fortunate to be able to work and engage with the residents on a variety of levels every day.

Berit has a Bachelor of Science Degree from The University of Minnesota. Her love for the older adult population developed in High School when she was an Activity Aide in a small skilled care facility.   Berit strives to not only create a positive living experience for the residents, but also encourages Body, Mind, and Spiritual growth through varied active living engagement activities. These can include: strength, movement and balance exercise classes, arts and crafts, baking, games, music, therapy animals, nature/gardening, guest entertainment and community outings to name a few. Working with and caring about the older adult population for over 20 years has been a real passion for Berit. Making days and moments great are daily goals in addition to caring for the emotional health of the residents. She is available to be their confidant, trouble shooter, one-on-one companion, and friend. In her off time, Berit enjoys time in the country with her husband of 30 years, three almost adult children, dogs and chickens. She loves a new travel experience, staying active cross country skiing, playing with her dogs, gardening, cooking, being creative, swimming and lounging by the pool. Berit is very proud to be part of The Red Cedar Canyon Team!
